Why we do it
When we hear the word “Software House”, our mind immediately paints a picture of a bunch of people sitting in isolated cubicles, quietly writing hundreds of lines of code all day long. Sure that gets the work done, but at Maavan, we believe in creativity, and we believe creativity is a combined effort that is not restricted by too many rules. We don’t work just because it’s our job, we do what we do because we love it, and this makes us strive to not just produce a good user experience, but an experience that would make us say aloud, “Now that’s cool!”.
Our aim has always been to have a good team dynamic. We don’t believe in isolating employees thinking that might maximize their work, we believe that constant interaction in a relaxed environment between different teams gives rise to more creative ideas. The ability of our team members to help each other, and come up with efficient solutions while having fun is something we are very proud to have.
Taking focus off the screen is important to refresh the brain. Halfway through the day our team members enjoy playing cricket, or just getting some fresh air in the park right next to our office. Each quarter, we have a team lunch sponsored by the company, at a place that is decided based on a poll taken from the employees.
How we do it
We have dedicated teams handling different technologies, which are led by experienced employees who really know what they are doing. Since technology changes every day, we have created an environment where our staff constantly evolves and develops new skills by exposing them to a wide range of technologies. The best part about working at Maavan is how easy it is to get help, whether it be a simple problem, or a complicated task where we need to have a discussion with different members, people are eager to help and freely provide their input on every issue, because, as mentioned earlier, we simply love what we do.
At Maavan, you will never hear the phrase “We’ve always done it this way”, if taking on a challenge and doing something we’ve never done before means a better user experience, we will gladly take the challenge head on. Two of the fundamental qualities every Maavan employee is tested on are logic building, and problem solving skills. Anyone can learn how to code, but these two skills are developed through passion and experience.
Just saying that we do what we do because we love it is not the only thing that motivates us. The company provides us with plenty of incentives to keep us hooked and happy.
